Curatorial Description
In Terra , ORENDAIN captures an emotional geography that evokes both ancestral cartography and internal landscapes. The pictorial surface is transformed into a territory where matter flows, settles, and mutates, evoking layers of sediment, minerals, and buried memories. Ochre, pink, and earthy tones form an organic palette that seems to emerge directly from the subsoil, while accents of black and gold leaf introduce tensions between the dark and the sacred.
The amoeboid, almost geological forms float like islands or fossils on a textured surface, while the gold and black rectangles function as abstract signals, reminding us that even in the most primitive environments there is a desire for order, for meaning.
ORENDAIN proposes a multiple and nonlinear interpretation of the landscape: not as representation, but as resonance. In this work, the land is not simply an element or surface; it is a living body, a receptacle of memory and possibility.
Terra is, ultimately, a sensorial exploration of the earth, where art becomes an act of spiritual and visual excavation. The viewer is invited to wander with their gaze, to explore the contours of a land that is not conquered, but contemplated.
