Curatorial Description
In Materia en Reposo , a composition unfolds that explores the latent energy of balanced organic forms. This piece is presented as a visual map where volumes of color—orange, green, black, and ochre—float or settle on a golden background that evokes the timelessness and silence of emptiness.
The gold leaf acts not only as a background but also as an atmosphere: a symbolic dimension that amplifies the perception of the forms. Each element has its own weight but also interrelates, as if it were a set of celestial bodies in a static, suspended choreography. The curved masses seem to recall seeds, rocks, fragments of landscape, or even primitive organisms, opening up both cosmic and terrestrial interpretations.
With this work, the artist reiterates his connection to Eastern aesthetics and art as visual meditation. The restraint of gesture, the precise choice of color, and the compositional rhythm engage with the tradition of abstract biomorphism, while also being part of a contemporary spiritual quest.
Matter at Rest is an invitation to contemplate what remains and vibrates without moving. A frozen moment where matter breathes and is dignified through form, color, and gold.
